If you can begin judging a Mexican restaurant by its appetizers, this place is great. Their salsas are thick and flavor-filled! The decor and environment is beautiful and upbeat. The staff were patient and accommodating.
FINALLY good Mexican food for southwestern Mexican food snobs like myself. Coming here from CA and NV, I've been very disappointed in the poor quality Mexican food around the valley. Finally though we found a place that tastes almost like home. If you are from the southwest and looking for a reminder of what real Mexican food tastes like, this is the place. My only suggestion is to add a bit more onion and lime to the salsa. Other than that, excellent food!!

We are visiting family in Hickory while on vacation and wanted some good Mexican food. Rancho Viejo did not disappoint. The food was amazing and came out sizzling hot. The food tasted delicious and the portions so generous. Our server Chema was so polite and attentive to us throughout the meal. We definitely recommend eating here and we will come back when we visit again.
We were seated quickly, and the waiter was friendly. The decor was nice and they had a salsa bar. The steak Chipotle was amazing with all the veggies and sauce, and the corn tortillas were super fresh. You get to choose your sides, and I got street corn and Cilantro rice. So delicious.. great portons for the price. I will be back. Definitely one of the top 3 mexican joints in the Hickory area. Prove me wrong!

I absolutely love Rancho Viejo!! Dominique was definitely a 5 server, the full professional package all should have. I have a lot of positives in their review I'll cover. The style of the dining area is perfect, Top to bottom, very clean. Dishes complimented placement of Artistic,Flavorful Food. Highly recommended restaurant to dine at with anyone or on your own.
Best Mexican restaurant in the area! I wish I lived closer so I could eat here more often, but every time I’m in Hickory, I get the pleasure of having a terrific meal here. The staff is great. The food is amazing. The atmosphere is comfortable. The salsa bar is a nice bonus. The prices are unbeatable. The portions are huge. What more can I say. It’s right off of I-40 so if you’re traveling through the area, I recommend stopping in.
